ABOUT

BLUE ZONE MARIN

Working with mothers and daughters is my passion!

As a mother to three kiddos and a workshop facilitator, I am so excited to offer the workshop series to my community in partnership with Marin Outdoor Adventure.

Reading online and zoom only go so far- technology clearly has its limits. Relationships are developed in person, and we all want to grow the trust and connectedness with those we love. This spring and summer, I’m inviting mothers and daughters to join me at the ocean to do just this. We’ll be committing to deepening our relationships and learning specific skills that can help all mothers and daughters to be closer to each other and more confident in themselves.

WHY BLUE ZONE ?

Blue Zones are places around the earth where people live the longest. One of the factors that influences how long people live is how connected they feel to loved ones. I named this workshop Blue Zone Marin because I believe in helping families to deepen and strengthen their relationships in order to improve health and well-being throughout the lifespan. Cultivating self-awareness and setting respectful boundaries in our relationships, especially with those in our immediate family, means living a happier, more meaningful life.

MY BIO

I started surfing in my 40’s because it brings me so much joy. Sitting on a board out in the ocean helps me reconnect with that feeling of freedom and adventure.

In the beginning, learning to surf involves falling off the board over and over again before getting the hang of it. Being a beginner surfer has allowed me to embrace falling and making mistakes. No matter our age, we all make a lot of mistakes! Embracing our own mistakes helps us to let go of pre-conceived notions about ourselves and our children and help us to become present to the people we and they are today.

As a mother and daughter, I’ve been through some of the highs and lows of this tricky and essential relationship.

I started Blue Zone Marin to work with women of all ages to grow their strengths and help deepen this pivotal mother-daughter relationship.
